Matthew S. Canno

Profile: Matthew S. Canno was a founding partner of Binder & Canno whose practice focused primarily on real estate litigation and negotiation as well as employment issues. Matt has successfully handled the purchase and sale of multimillion dollar commercial and residential real estate. Matt has additionally negotiated leases on behalf of both landlord and tenants in residential and commercial leases. Matt is particularly well-versed in distresses real estate, negotiating the purchase of promissory notes from banks, short sales, and bank-owned real estate. Matthew Canno has since retired from Binder & Canno but continues to provide consulting help to the firm where requested.

Additional Experience: Matthew Canno has been a commercial and residential real estate developer for eight years and has developed properties in University City, Rittenhouse Square, New Jersey, and South Philadelphia as well as the YMCA building in Center City. In addition to his real estate expertise, Mr. Canno has owned or been the CEO of multiple businesses in the Philadelphia area including a life settlement company, a bowling lounge, and a mortgage brokerage company. He was featured in the February 2007 edition of Philadelphia Magazine for his entrepreneurial success. Mr. Canno holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from The University of Pennsylvania Law School.
